Our client is Ireland's largest educational and group travel company responsible for the sale and operation of worldwide school, college and non-educational group tours. They currently require a Tour Consultant to join their team based in Dublin 9.
Job Responsibilities:
Dealing with all issues relating to a tour from the moment a booking is confirmed through to the group returning from the tour and then post tour contact, in order to maximise the potential of a re-booking with us and ensuring total client satisfaction.
Using a be-spoke IT system as well as standard Microsoft applications to manage the organisation of the tours (training will be given).
Liasing with external suppliers and our internal support departments regarding arranging transport, visits and accommodation.
Dealing with tour payments, liasing with our accounts people in Dublin and Blackpool, and assisting with completion of monthly accrual sheets
Maintaining up-to-date information about visits in your specific assigned areas
Replying to client tour complaints when required (with assistance from the Team Leader if necessary)
Improving product knowledge by visiting assigned areas / taking part in inspection visits / attending trade shows or events relevant to your geographical areas
Requirements:
High level of customer service skills, with the ability to deal with sometimes demanding clients
Ability to organise and prioritise workload, work under pressure and meet deadlines
Accuracy and attention to detail
Good verbal and written communications skills
A good knowledge of Microsoft IT products (word, excel) and ability to use IT systems
The facility to identify and resolve problems
An understanding of commercial practices
Financial awareness
A reasonable degree of numeracy
Intermediate keyboard skills
Travel background desirable
